A 27-year-old man with bacterial endocarditis of the mitral valve and embolic episodes was bound to have a large right coronary artery fistula communicating with the left ventricle, immediately inferior to the posterior mitral annulus. The perforation of the posterior leaflet and coronary arteriovenous fistula was identified using two-dimensional Doppler echocardiography. The diagnosis was conf...
متن کاملClinical presentation of coronary arteriovenous fistula according to age and anatomic orientation

The aim of this study was to describe clinical presentation and also delineate the course and management of CAVF. Methods: Clinical data, chest x-rays, echocardiographic and angiographic evaluation of...

Among cardiac valves, tricuspid valve is most commonly affected in the course of endocarditis. Appropriate management of these patients is a challenging and controversial issue in the field of cardiac surgery. Treatment options in s...
متن کاملMassive Congenital Bidirectional Coronary Arteriovenous Malformation Presenting with Signs and Symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure in an Adult: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
Congenital anomalies of the coronary arteries are relatively rare. Mostly asymptomatic, however, some can cause problems, as heart failure, myocardial ischemia, and ventricular arrhythmia, and are associated with risk of complications, such as endocarditis and coronary rupture or sudden death. A case of a 69-year-old man with complaints of tiredness, dyspnea, and palpitation due to coronary art...
